MISS KIRK’S 5TH GRADE

by admin
Comments are off

In 5th grade we have hit the ground running already. We are working on a project called “The Great Mail Race.” This project is where we will send a letter to all 50 states in the U.S. Each student is writing to at least 4 states. They each picked their states, and cities within that state. Next, they have to pick a school within that city to write to. The school has to have 5th graders within it. With the letter we are sending a sheet with questions for the class to send back. We are super excited to see how many responses we receive back.

Another fun and exciting thing going on in 5th grade is “Team building.” We have done a few “team building” exercises and will be doing more throughout the school year. Team building is an important part of classroom development. These students are learning how to work together by talking and listening to each other. By learning these traits they will have a better understanding of the importance of respect.
