Preschool is an exciting time for learning. We have learned a lot in the first few weeks of school. We started with making new friends and getting to know each other. We are working on learning the letters, numbers, shapes and colors. We also have time for hands-on activities as well as painting, computers and play time. Students will learn through play how to interact and get along with others. This month we are learning the letters L, F, E, the number 1, circle and red. The Nursery Rhyme is “Wheels on the Bus” and “Jack and Jill.”
I have a list of great computer sites for preschool learning. One is www.starfall.com. Your child has used this site for alphabet and number activities.
We have also enjoyed other books such as ”Pete the Cat” by Eric Litwin, “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom”, and “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle. We are learning songs like “Head and Shoulders”, “Bean Bag Boogie”, and “Going on a Bear Hunt”. You may have heard your child singing “I love my white shoes” which is from “Pete the Cat.”
We have begun learning sign language with the students as well. They are very fast learners as some of you know. They can show you sit down, stand up, wait, listen, potty, yes and no, to name a few. We are practicing the days of the week.
I will be sending pictures to be posted on the school website. Keep checking for pictures of your child.
Happy Birthday to Braxton Wittlake and Tayla Kossak.
I am looking forward to meeting you at conferences. It will be an exciting year. Thank you for sharing your child.
